(The picture really doesn't do it justice.) The idea came from a mistake. I bought these tiny disks (1/2" diameter) thinking they were the same ones I've bought before - with only one hole. After I bought them and took them home I realized they actually had two holes. Well, WHAT was I going to do with that?! <br /><br />Happily, it didn't take me long to come up with this idea. I'm also thinking about putting some together vertically as a pendant, though I don't think I'd use more than 3 or 4 for that.<br /><br />This bracelet is 7.5" long and is totally customizable. Theoretically, I could make an entire bracelet with just disks on it - that would mean 4 or 5 more disks.<br /><br />If you could have almost anything on this bracelet, what would it be?Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-65874478746242899552009-03-18T16:58:00.000-07:002009-03-18T17:01:14.602-07:00Looky Here! This is a fabulous <a href="http://simple-reviews.blogspot.com/">site</a>. Really, it shouldn't be that difficult. I add at least one shop to my "favorites" list every day, so I want to share some of them with you.<br /><br />The Intuitive Garden is one of the first shops I found on etsy.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SPJmhWVsBAI/AAAAAAAABjM/HJsNJTRkGuY/s1600-h/intugarden.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SPJmhWVsBAI/AAAAAAAABjM/HJsNJTRkGuY/s400/intugarden.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256376438213051394" border="0" /></a><br />Here's a little bit from the artist:<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" >Through what I would consider to be a sort of “mindful doodling,” I create digital illustrations and drawings inspired by nature and organic shapes. In addition to drawing, I also have a passion for taking photos and often incorporate my original photographs into my work.<br /><br />I carefully and thoughtfully handcraft all the items in my shop. There are many steps in my production process and each piece receives lots of attention before being transplanted to its new home. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">You can check out The Intuitive Garden <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5221232">here</a>.</span>Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-29595276238889868622008-10-02T10:20:00.000-07:002008-10-02T10:21:00.040-07:00THREE!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Kz_VjOQ5nK0/SOUBypiQG1I/AAAAAAAAAFU/zeUXWwQnJVc/s1600-h/3disc2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Kz_VjOQ5nK0/SOUBypiQG1I/AAAAAAAAAFU/zeUXWwQnJVc/s320/3disc2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252606510052154194" border="0" /></a><br />There are so many brave souls with more than two kids, I just had to make this. I've finally gotten the tools and the instruction and I can't wait to make more.<br /><br />These pendants are made from airplane grade aluminum. A <a href="http://www.vansairforce.net/">friend</a> of mine built his own <a href="http://www.n617ar.com/">plane </a>out of this stuff and has a large sheet still in his garage. It is heavy duty! I cut and shaped the strips, then hand stamped the words onto the strips. The top of the pendant is simply curled around the cord necklace.<br /><br />The larger pendants can be customized with a word or name of your choice.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SJr-lmZL7rI/AAAAAAAABDU/uHgoqcERTwY/s1600-h/hope5.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SJr-lmZL7rI/AAAAAAAABDU/uHgoqcERTwY/s400/hope5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231773839059054258" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SJr-l-9G8SI/AAAAAAAABDc/8FEsw2bu68k/s1600-h/peace3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SJr-l-9G8SI/AAAAAAAABDc/8FEsw2bu68k/s400/peace3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5231773845652173090" border="0" /></a><br />You can see more pictures of these pendants and my online shop <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5307033">here</a>.Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-79344588760776245752008-07-23T11:27:00.000-07:002008-07-23T11:31:08.595-07:00Take Your Sun With You!Here's is my latest, greatest creation:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SId4EjOeA0I/AAAAAAAABBs/xlaHcEZAwDo/s1600-h/redbrace3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SId4EjOeA0I/AAAAAAAABBs/xlaHcEZAwDo/s400/redbrace3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226277912157487938" border="0" /></a><br />I'm really starting to like making these bracelets. Yes, they do take a while to make, but it's a very calming experience. I sold the bracelet that was the same style as this but with blues and greens. Maybe someone will be in the mood for red?<br /><br />I've also listed a few other new pieces. It's been a productive couple of weeks for some reason. It was fun. We saw some great beads and were greatly entertained by other shoppers. I also got to use the one thing I can remember in Chinese, "xie xie", which means thank you. I was then reminded of the way to say, "You're welcome".<br /><br />Anyhoo, I didn't spend a whole lot, but what I did buy instantly inspired me. I've actually made and listed a few pieces of jewelry this week!<br /><br />This is my favorite.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SCN3WzNkFaI/AAAAAAAAA7U/P-1zzSCakXc/s1600-h/turqbrace.2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/SCN3WzNkFaI/AAAAAAAAA7U/P-1zzSCakXc/s400/turqbrace.2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5198129628503610786" border="0" /></a><br />I will happily sell this bracelet if an interested buyer comes along. She makes the most adorable hair accessories for little girls. I'm amazed at how creative she is and the things she can do with ribbon!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R93NpgRplaI/AAAAAAAAA1w/TPdivPvz1ds/s1600-h/posh.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R93NpgRplaI/AAAAAAAAA1w/TPdivPvz1ds/s400/posh.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5178521259468232098" border="0" /></a><br />Here's a little bit from the artist:<br /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;">Although I am new to Etsy, I have been making bows and polymer creation for over a year, and I am also the owner of www.polymerclaygarden.com<br /><br />For as long as I can remember I have been crafting and creating things. From painting clothes and making my own jewelry and hair accessories as a teen, to making unique items with polymer clay and hair accessories for my own daughter. My styles has changed and evolved over the years, a little more grown up now, but still unique and with my own personal spin on them.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-size:85%;">I offer boutique style hair bows, woven ribbon headbands, seasonal hair bows, creative clippies, as well as many adorable polymer clay items, and the new Flutterclay Creations.<br /><br />All of my items are handmade by me. I take great care and use only high quality ribbon in all of my bows and artist grade polymer clay in my clay items. All layered and loopy bows are hand sewn and all ribbon ends are heat sealed to prevent fraying, even the ends you don't see.<br /><br />Most items ship within 24 hours of payment.<br /><br />I love custom orders, convo me for more information.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">Go visit her <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5549710">shop</a>, and show her some love!</span>Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-1179908142869496752008-03-10T15:06:00.001-07:002008-03-10T15:28:35.121-07:00A Little Something Sparkly<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R9WxHQRplVI/AAAAAAAAA1M/X04c6vJbg-Y/s1600-h/desertbrac.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R9WxHQRplVI/AAAAAAAAA1M/X04c6vJbg-Y/s400/desertbrac.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176238084918449490" border="0" /></a>I've had this <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9357537">bracelet</a> in my shop for about a month and a half. I love it! The funny thing is that I almost didn't make it at all.<br /><br />I started on it around Christmas and got about half way through and something just wasn't doing it for me. I'm still not sure what that something was.<br /><br />So, as I usually do when I get "beader's block", I just walked away from it and let it sit. When I started up on it again, I changed a few beads around and some sort of magic happened. Now I love it. Like everything in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5307033">shop</a>, it has sparkle. Everyone needs some sparkle - daily!Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-40702380885764760722008-02-25T07:44:00.000-08:002008-02-25T07:55:44.506-08:00Etsy Artist of the WeekThis week I'm featuring <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5623212">Sentimental Journey</a>.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R8LjBrehLGI/AAAAAAAAAwg/Ed-Ta8cn_c8/s1600-h/card.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R8LjBrehLGI/AAAAAAAAAwg/Ed-Ta8cn_c8/s400/card.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170944940164852834" border="0" /></a>Her shop features handmade cards for all occasions. They are all so pretty, it's hard to pick a favorite. I love the one pictured above. She also has a 5 pack called "Four Weddings and a Funeral", which I think is just too clever.<br /><br />Here's a little bit from the artist:<br /><span style="font-size:85%;"></span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br />I'm a mom of two young children (and currently baking #3) who enjoys creating pretty things! Long winters in Minnesota make it an ideal place to be inside and making things. </span><span style="font-size:85%;">I've been making cards for my family and friends for years and received many compliments. Upon the urging of a few, I've decided to sell some of my creations.<br /><br />Each card is hand-made, and therefore unique. All cards are 5 1/2 x 4 inches folded (unless otherwise noted). All come with an envelope for mailing.<br /><br />I'd be happy to do custom work if you have a special occasion coming. Please convo me and we can work out the details.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">I mean how cool would it be to have custom, handmade cards?! I have always drooled over bracelets like this, but I had never made one. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give it a try. First, I went into my bead "collection" and picked out my favorite beads that had greens and blues as a main color. I LOVE these beads. Each one is so different, and together they look fantastic. The clasp that resembles a sun just adds the perfect touch.<br /><br />I called this bracelet "Feelin' Beachy" because that's exactly how it made me feel.Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689890673161362713.post-25852344105493536312008-02-11T13:19:00.001-08:002008-02-11T13:26:07.823-08:00Etsy Artist of the WeekSince this is my first "Etsy Artist of the Week", I figured I should start with the person that introduced me to etsy, <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5288208">moondogtreasures</a>.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R7C7_behK9I/AAAAAAAAAvY/T_NT9z6FLu4/s1600-h/suecross.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_B7stEI_JLjM/R7C7_behK9I/AAAAAAAAAvY/T_NT9z6FLu4/s400/suecross.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165835470975871954" border="0" /></a><br />Moondog is a friend of mine who does incredible work with any material she can get her hands on. You can find pretty much anything you can think of there.Cyndehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04071282012908418872noreply@blogger.com4
